Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman today announced Nillumbik Shire Council will receive $300,000 through the Youth Hubs Grant Program which provides young people with a modern and accessible site to access to education, employment, and support services.

The Nillumbik Shire Council Youth Hub will deliver mental health services, employment services, case management and generalist youth support.

The existing site will be redeveloped into a contemporary and accessible space including a large meeting room, private consultation spaces, a new outdoor area, and upgraded building services. Redevelopment is scheduled to start in June 2023.

The youth hub will be co-designed with young Victorians to ensure the space is safe and appropriate for young people to connect with each other, be part of meaningful decision-making opportunities and have their voices, lived experiences and solutions heard.

The Youth Hub Grant Program is part of a $1 million investment for the development of new or upgraded place-based youth hubs in Geelong and outer Melbourne.
