HELP OUT AT A LOCAL SCHOOL
Have you considered helping out with your local school?
One of the best ways to get involved in your community is to chip in at your child’s school, or a school in your neighbourhood.
Many schools have volunteer-led programs that help promote the wellbeing of students and the whole community, and they’re often looking for helpers.
School Breakfast Clubs offer free breakfasts to kids at local schools. This program is expanding to include all government schools by the end of 2025, so the more the merrier.
Ask your school how you can help out.
Parents & Friends Associations come together to help push for the wellbeing of all students and work collectively to seek better outcomes for their school.
Ask your school whether they have a Parents and Friends association.
If they don’t - maybe you could start one!
Working Bees are a chance for you
to give just a little of your time to
help brighten up the classrooms and
playgrounds for your children and
their classmates.
Whether you’re a skilled tradesperson, or just keen to lend a hand, there’s a job for everyone, and it’s a great way to
meet the school community while
contributing too.
There are many other programs that schools will be looking for help with. Don’t be afraid to ask!
Did I miss your group or activity? I can add it to this web page and include it in my next printed edition.
