Families in Wallan East will be able to borrow quality toys and learning resources for their children, thanks to a Victorian Government grant for Kids First Kindergarten.

This funding will allow the Mitchell Shire kinder to establish a new Community Toy Library, helping families save by reducing the cost of buying new toys as children grow and their interests change. The $40,000 grant is delivered through the 2025–26 Toy Library Grants Program.

The new toy library will give local families a place close to home to borrow quality learning resources, sensory toys, outdoor learning equipment and more – helping them to save money and support their children’s learning.

The Toy Library will also provide a welcoming space to meet other parents, and connect with toddler programs, library activities and other support services.

Wallan East will soon have its fourth kindergarten to be built with support from the Victorian Government, with the Muyan Community Centre kindergarten on the way. Families in Victoria are also benefiting from Free Kinder, which provides free three and four-year-old kinder programs across the state.
